“All art forms ultimately speak the same language. In the midst of a turbulent world, people long for live interaction! I hope to enter the dazzling world of surprising, expanding, and addictive art at Dialogia! events. Sometimes you have to open a door and walk through it to see what’s on the other side. How great a joy it can be to find yourself being led to a door you didn’t know existed before! My passionate goal is to create events together with the Dialogia! team that would entice you to open that door.” - Pia Freund

The content of Dialogia! events naturally involves the audience, but there is no compulsion or pressure to participate - you can enjoy the performance just as much by watching and listening.

OUR HISTORY

The Dialogia! Festival Association was founded in Hämeenlinna in June 2023. Before the association was founded, in the autumn of 2022, a series of three multidisciplinary events was organized at the Hämeenlinna Town Hall under the title Dialogia! . The series was planned by opera singer Pia Freund. Due to the corona pandemic, the series was not implemented until autumn 2022. The event was supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation Hämeen Fund and the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.

Pia Freund came up with the idea for the series of events in Hämeenlinna from the need to combine different art forms, bring together artists to perform together, discuss both with each other and the audience.

The goal was also to get the audience to gently participate in the events, and to get more cultural offerings to the Hämeenlinna area.

The first events were carried out by over 30 artists from the fields of dance, poetry, literature, theater, visual arts, photography and music. The events received attention in the local media and all events were sold out. The positive feedback enlightened the idea of establishing a Dialogia! Festival association, which could continue organising events and create a production framework for them.

Events organised after the transition to an association:

September 17, 2023 Dialogia -By the Body, at Hämeenlinna Dance Center. Focusing on young dance artists, contemporary music and neuroscience. Donations from private individuals ensured the implementation of the event in a situation where the newly established association had not yet accumulated funds.
