Pia Freund

Pia Freund is an opera singer and artist who has become known for her particularly her international and multidisciplinary career, as well as her constantly renewing way of communicating with different art forms.

“Art is an interpretive relationship where the world speaks through art” is Pia’s motto. Her passion is to create boldly opinionated works in which she likes to combine the possibilities of theater, dance, visual arts, poetry and music to examine and raise even difficult social issues.

In all of Pia’s artistic activities, the goal is always to meet and communicate with fellow artists and the audience.

Taina-Maaria Rautasuo

Taina-Maaria Rautasuo is a multi-talented artist in the arts and culture sector. She is a freelance artist, a versatile voice professional, a singer, pianist, choir director and voice coach. She has extensive experience in performance and concert activities, as well as in producing art and culture, in educational tasks and as a pedagogue.

Rautasuo, who has been trained in the arts and culture sector in many ways, has received much praise for her ability to inspire young people to sing, and her contribution has been central to supporting the musical careers and well-being of many young people.

The themes of cultural well-being and community are still close to her heart in her versatile tasks as a cultural producer (YAMK, Master of Culture and Arts). Taina-Maaria's motto is: “Breathe, sing, resonate – from soul to soul in the flow of melody and words; in the interactive energy of music!”

Aino Krohn

Aino Krohn graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki as a textile artist in 1972. After living and studying for several years in the United States and Italy, she first ended up as a nursery aunt at a Montessori kindergarten, then as a fabric weaving instructor at an adult school and as an art teacher at an international elementary school. In Finland, she had gained work experience as a freelance designer of printed fabrics and as a textile design teacher at Fredrika Wetterhoff's Home Industry Teacher Training Institute.

After returning to Finland, she got a position as an advertising designer at Creator Oy and completed an MAT degree at the Marketing Institute and a Diploma in International Brand Management certificate at the IAA in London. Aino worked as a copywriter-concept designer at several advertising agencies in the Helsinki metropolitan area before moving to become the creative director of Publicis Törmä Oy in 2000.

Currently, Krohn is active in the Kanta-Hämeen Kirjoittajayhdistys Vana-66 ry and the Hämeenlinnan Seudun Taideyhdistys ry. Her texts have been published in two anthologies (Omiani puhun / Vanajavesden Opisto 2013 and Ajatuksien rajoilla / Kirjoittajayhdistys Janaki 40 v, 2024). Her debut work of poetry (Mustarastas on minunkin nimeni Basam Books Oy, Helsinki 2022) saw the light of day as a result of winning the nature poetry competition of YLE and the Finnish Nature Foundation in 2021.

Krohn's lyrics can be found in Teosto. Along with her poems, have been performed in several concerts and recitals across Finland. Eräs Teatteri from Hämeenlinna has used Aino's poems in three performances: Odotus istuu olkäpää 2015, Muistatko niin kuin minä muistan? 2023 and Eix riitä? 2025. Oulu-based music pedagogue Tiina Kukkula composed two of her poems for the Ii's Lied singing competition in 2023.

Ada Freund

Ada Freund is a Finnish dance artist. She graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK) in 2022 and completed postgraduate studies at PERA School of Performing Arts (American University, Cyprus) in 2022-2023. She has worked with international choreographers such as Eleanor Perry and Daniel Hay-Gordon, Jos Baker, Phil Sanger, Marion Sparber and Alan Fuentes-Guerra, Johanna Spies, Jean Abreu and Vivianne Budsko-Lomm.

Ada is particularly inspired by the playfulness of imagination and the use of sensory experiences in her work. Her practice is shaped around these elements, creating a movement language that evokes the imagination. Through interdisciplinary approaches, Freund constantly strives to bring new perspectives to her artistic work, and to increase the accessibility and approachability of art, regardless of starting point.

Ada has choreographed solo works, duets and group works. In 2023 she founded the dance group cie.acompagniada, which premiered ‘Forgotten Rocks’ in June 2023, and ‘Salaisuuksien Ullakko’ in 2024. Ada has also taught dance theatre at Tanssivarpai and Sibelius-Opisto. Freund choreographed two works for the Children’s Dialogue! Hampampam event at Hämeenlinna Theatre on 14 April 2024.
